Probono aid / assistance / help
Probono is originally used in legal contexts, however it's now gained currency to describe almost any complimentary service in a less informal speaking manner and therefore an effective term to use for purpose. But then again...it need be asked what is the sentence it's being used in...to ascertain further suitablity...?!

I may be wrong elsewhere but not here...Gratuity signifies a state of redundancy, and Gratuitous simply equivalent to " Unecessary"...and that's as disapproving as it can get, in describing an offered help. You may wish to check that with just about any dictionary but I suffice with the current educated native usage. Of course, you can bend the rules, but first you need to learn and practice them...but then you already knew that...!!
