Are you sure that the word "mas" is not mais? Because the word after the coma *doque* suggests a comparison. I so, it wouold be;They resemble Nero more then...

I'm assuming the original sentence reads "mais parecem com Nero do que...," otherwise this makes no sense at all.

(Nero being the roman emperor who fiddled while Rome burned....)
