English term

under the radar

English to German Marketing Marketing / Market Research
does this have an idiomatic meaning like 'Im Blickfeld' 'Im Visier' or so?
In my case it's among headings for a market research on data transfer security which reads as follows:

Summary
Data on the move
the scale of the problem
*under the radar*
the small security loophole

Thanks for you input

Discussion

David Seycek Feb 26, 2007:
Sorry, I’m obviously mistaken here. Having read Francis’ suggestion, I’d go along with it.
David Seycek Feb 26, 2007:
Definitely an idiom (just Google for the phrase) and „Im Visier“ conveys it pretty closely, IMHO.

nicht erfasste Risiken

"Under the radar" heißt in der Tat "unbemerkt"

Data on the move > Datenmigration
the scale of the problem > Problemumfang
*under the radar* > nicht erfasste Risiken
the small security loophole > die kleine Sicherheitslücke

unbemerkt

another option
Peer comment(s):

quasi verdeckt

Seems to kind of sort of mean that they are active in hiding it, but not really.

I couldn't be bothered to add it, and I was evidently right not to ... ;-)

ungeachtet/unsichtbar/ausserhalb des Blickfelds

"Under the radar" im Sinne von einem tieffliegenden Flugzeug, das eben NICHT erkannt wird. Im übewrtragenen Sinne also ausserhalb des Blickfelds.

... the White House strategy seems to be to push many of its abortion actions under the radar, where they will not be noticed by moderate women voters.

Seeing as the Asker chose another phrase anyway, I'm wondering why Johanna got the points ... ;-(
