You know, special supplements of "tourism" "cuisine", that kind of thing.

Which appear in newspapers, I forgot to add. Spanish newspapers are constantly including them, giving the impression they are news articles, but in fact they are just excuses for more advertising. Look at, for example:

agree translatol : I think it could be this, though it might also cover 'in-depth articles' . 'Monograph(ic)' would be a 'falso amigo': it's strictly an academic term. not journalism.

Thanks
agree Natalia Prats : They seem to avoid using a specific term for this sort of things. There was a Sunday supplement recently about the 70's and they just called it "the retro issue".

Thanks Natalia
agree Marga Demmers (X) : Seems the best solution to me.

plural would be monographs
Note from asker:
Hi Dolores. Thanks for replying to my question. I know that literally, it would be monographs, but in all my years in marketing in London, I never heard anyone use that word, so I think it must be something else... perhaps others will have ideas too... Thanks again for your help.

A more natural-sounding option for your context, perhaps.

Catalan definition: 2. Que tracta d'un aspecte concret de qualsevol disciplina...

I think this term tends to be used fairly loosely in both Catalan and Spanish.
Peer comment(s):

agree Veronica Lambert Hall : An excellent option, I'll use it myself from now on too, sounds much more natural! Thanks!!

Thanks, Veronica!
agree Andy Watkinson : "in-depth articles"
2 hrs
Thanks, Andy.
agree Berni Armstrong : I like that option too Ross. It's one of those words that crop up regularly and that we don't really have a single word for.

Thanks, Berni.
