Non è uno sbaglio e non vuol dire "hourly production":)
Stiamo in una fabbrica dove si assemblano automobili.
Questa è una categoria di personale dove abbiamo "Employees who are paid by the hour and work in the production department (and in the United States typically belong to a labor union like the UAW)"
Non cerco niente di troppo specialistico (o legalese. Dopo tutto il mio teso è prevalentemente marketing). Un'espressione vagamente colloquiale andrebbe bene.
