agree Dave Calderhead : or event organisation agency

agree Deborah do Carmo : organizer (promoter *may* be misunderstood as the financial backer of the event and not the firm providing the organisational/planning service)

Thanks, yes, you are right with the *may*.

show office

I have seen it very often, preceded by the commercial name, for companies that organize all kinds of events, fairs, congresses, etc.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Deborah do Carmo : the "show office" is normally a designated place on-site at a show/event, set up to handle vistors' enquiries etc, it's not the event organizer (which may handle multiple events at the same time as its business)

For writeaway's benefit, I should add that Google had nothing to do with how I came up with this answer - I just used it to back up my initial idea. My initial thought was derived from the fact that a friend of mine runs precisely this sort of business, and he calls himself an "event planner".

Obrigado, Deborah.
neutral writeaway : number of Googles is impressive but not always a great way to push for an answer. context doesn't count and that often makes it a misleading indication. agree event planner is also fine.

Well, yeah, sure, you're stating the obvious re Google hit count. But have you even looked at this particular example, or are you just making a general point? If you agree event planner is 'fine', then why not an 'agree'???
