linguae confidimus
Or 'linguae credimus'. The dative is required with a transitive verb in Latin after most verbs of favouring, helping, pleasing, trusting, and their antonyms; likewise, after most verbs of believing, persuading, commanding, obeying, serving, resisting, enying, threatening, and pardoning.
'Confidimus' also requires the dative because it is compounded with 'con-', as do many other verbs compounded with prepositions.
Cf. Gildersleeve & Lodge, Latin Grammar, 3rd ed., §346, N. 2, §347; Allen & Greenough, Latin Grammar, 2nd ed., §227, §228.
