نرم نوش
As we don't have any direct equivalent for smoothie in either Farsi or Dari, I am quoting you نرم نوش from a shop here in Tehran selling smoothies. I liked their translation and it is accurate enough.

آب میوه
The most usually usually used word is آب میوه , the can refer to smoothie blended from any fruit. another term that is sometime used is جوس میوه.
When referring to a specific fruit, than include the name of fuit too, such آب انار/جوس انا ، آب سیب/جوس سیب، جوس آم

as i said, the term جوس میوه is also used. In Dari languages, the juice and smoothie might be used interchangeably.
for example, a mango's smoothie, or banana's smoothie, that is blended, chilled from fresh fruit, that include ice, milk, etc, is called جوس آم or جوس کیله

Indeed, نرم نوش is a very nice translation, but it is Farsi, not Dari.....and i am not sure if the Dari reader would be comfortable with it....
the original Kudoz question was asking Dari translation.

Thanks! |
Thank you Subhan. I understand what you mean. The problem is that in my text, it also compares the benefit of "Fruit Smoothies" and the harm of "Fruit Juice" for teeth. So you can imagine if I use the word "Ab e Meywa", I will be in trouble. I used "Narm Noosh with a footnote and explanation in Dari. |
Discussion
This is "Fruit Juice" and you don't blend and crush the fruit. please read here:
Juice is a liquid naturally contained in fruit or vegetable tissue. Juice is prepared by mechanically squeezing or macerating fresh fruits or vegetables without the application of heat or solvents. For example, orange juice is the liquid extract of the fruit of the orange tree. Juice may be prepared in the home from fresh fruits and vegetables using variety of hand or electric juicers. Many commercial juices are filtered to remove fiber or pulp, but high pulp fresh orange juice is marketed as an alternative
I just copy and paste from wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoothie
A smoothie is a blended, chilled, sweet beverage made from fresh fruit. In addition to fruit, many smoothies include crushed ice, frozen fruit, or frozen yogurt. They have a milkshake-like consistency which is thicker than slush drinks, but unlike milkshakes, they do not usually contain ice cream, but can contain milk.
