Portuguese term

trabalhando de costas um para o outro

Portuguese to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation Dance
back-to-back to each other seria incorreto porque back-to-back significa outra coisa... Como descrver esta posição de estar de costas um para o outro?

working back to back

Não entendi seu comentário. Onde vc viu que back to back não pode ser?

Back to back - This term also can be applied to persons who stand facing in opposite directions and with their backs touching.

Note from asker:
Não achei essa definição, obrigada !!! Então seria melhor somente back to back, back to back to each other seria até pleonasmo, não?

working with their backs turned to each other

Apresento outra sugestão, não porque não se possa dizer "back to back", mas essa expressão, embora com hífens e usada como adjetivo:

1- pode também significar "consecutive/successive", causando ambigüidade;
2- refere-se a pessoas se tocando (ou quase), o que pode não ser o caso.
Example sentence:

Alonso and Piquet standing at opposite ends of the garage with their backs turned to each other and arms folded impassively across

The ceremony over, the Indian and Pakistani guards stand with their backs turned to each other and pose for pictures.

neutral Neil Teixeira (X) : Just to say that you shouldn't only say expression used in England, because the user didn't ask for an English (UK) answer...
