neutral Tony M : Given the context, I'd have thought it was more likely to be 'direction' > 'art direction' ; yes, it's just that a job title fits badly into the rest of the phrase...

The translator's job is to adapt according to the context. However, DA is the usual abbreviation for "directeur artistique".
