perito-secretario del condado-jefe del registro

Terminología estándar. Ver el Alcaraz Varó Hughes Legal, págs. 54, "assessor", 120, "county clerk", 428, "recorder1".-

assesor and county clerk

As far as I studied, county clerk and assessor are two different things and not always come together. The translation in Spanish for "county clerk" as in the officer in charge of the vital records is "Secretario del Condado". On the other hand, there is the Assessor that is in charge of the valuation of real estate properties, for tax purposes. In some cases, the County Clerk may be also the County Assessor. But I insist on the difference between them.
Example sentence:

This an exact reproduction of the document officialy registered.... In the office of the <b>County Clerk.<b>

The assessor is in charge of determining the value of the real state property to calculate its Tax.
