French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng

I am not looking for a dictionary translation – I have plenty of those. I have been wading through all the translation resources I dispose of and I’m more confused than ever. I know that this is already in the KOG. What I don’t know is which of the myriad of GDT R&C, IATE and Co translations is suitable in my context and why there are so many different translations for this one wee word! Google doesn’t help much either.

My context: instructions for assembling a wall-mounted kinetic sculpture (its works on electricity and it’s the kind you can see if you google "rolling ball sculptures"). At the back of the frame there is a hole where the client can pull out these ‘cosses’, connect them and push them back inside. They are nothing to do with cars…

My sentence:
A l’arrière du tableau, connectez les causses (sic) moteur avec les causses tableau. En respectant les couleurs, bleu sur bleu, rouge sur rouge.
Puis repoussez l’ensemble à l’intérieur du fond de tableau.

Am I correct in assuming that ‘causses’ is a typo for ‘cosses’?

I have found lugs, tags, terminals, spades, terminal spade tags… I would appreciate an expert opinion, with explanations if possible. I have photos of the said ‘cosses’, which I can’t post here, but can send privately if necessarily.
