wall of applauding hands Explanation: I just came across this question while looking up 'valla de honor' and thought I should add a new answer for future reference, since I don't think anyone got it right. 'Valla de honor' means 'guard of honor' (i.e. when soldiers line up on either side of a red carpet for the visit of a head of state etc.) and 'valla ovacionado' is, I think, a metaphor for a similar idea of AMLO entering to a 'wall' of applauding hands that don't, however, touch him.
