agree  Donald Scott Alexander: Yes - I noticed this also once I started translating some additional examples - where in most cases the word "and" (instead of "which") was necessary to refer to correct antececent - as you pointed out it is here!

As Daniel has pointed out, and as many of the examples I cited and translated show, the word "and" is often better than "which" here - in order to refer to the correct antecedent.

In this situation, the translation would be:

"...[they] show the minimum range ... and may even ..."

agree  Enrique Espinosa: I think it's "which" because the text refers to the Chonta formation as a hole. The first levels could be Cenomanian in age, but the Chonta formation could be as old as late Albian (that's the idea of the sentence)
