German term

Unser Wissen für Ihren Erfolg!

German to English Marketing IT (Information Technology)
Dies ist der Slogan eines IT-Unternehmens. Kann ich das als "Our kow how means your success!" oder "Our know how for your succes!" übersetzen?

Vielen Dank im Voraus!

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): LP Schumacher, Ingeborg Gowans (X), Harald Moelzer (medical-translator)

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

ElkeKoe (asker) Oct 14, 2008:
Hallo zusammen! Vielen herzlichen Dank für Eure vielen Tipps. Leider kann ich keinen weiteren Kontext bringen, da dies der Slogan des Unternehmens ist und bereits als Untertitel im Firmennamen enthalten ist. Viele Grüsse Elke
Harvey Utech Oct 11, 2008:
Our Know-How, Your Success If this is a tag-line, i.e. designed to appear in conjunction with a logo, I think it needs to be short and punchy; hence, this offering.
Lirka Oct 10, 2008:
With Wagner with modification I agree with Wagner. the only thing I would correct is the --. In English you need to write: Our know-how -- the key to your success!
BrigitteHilgner Oct 10, 2008:
Mit Ken. "Know-how" finde ich ganz spontan nicht passend.
w.wagner Oct 10, 2008:
Ich würde das wie folgt übersetzen: Our know how - the key to your success!
Ken Cox Oct 10, 2008:
Can you provide more context? Among other things, the translation depends on where this is used -- e.g. as a 'statement of principle' in running text ('wir arbeiten nach dem Motto: ...') or as a stand-alone slogan.
Yasdnil1 Oct 10, 2008:
Like the first option I'd go with your first option. Or perhaps "Our know-how means you succeed"? Good luck

Our expertise is / - the key to your success!

Entweder: Our expertise is the key to your success!

Oder: Our expertise - the key to your success!
Peer comment(s):

agree Friderike Butler : How about really short: Our expertise becomes your success!
6 mins
agree Nandini Vivek : Our expertise - the key to your success! sounds good to me
7 mins
neutral Ken Cox : Not bad, but this has at least the implication of dependency ('without us you're nowhere'), which may may not be the desired message ;-)
11 mins
The asker says it's used as a "slogan" ... And dependency is what marketing is all about, no? Buy our stuff because you need it if you want to be successful, beautiful, rich ... ;-)
agree Ventnai
11 mins
agree Ingeborg Gowans (X) : I still think this works here!
22 mins
agree oa_xxx (X) : expertise or know-how, both work for me and is the key to your success (helps you succeed...)Think most marketing is supposed to imply that you wont succeed without us!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you very much, Little Balu!"

Our know-how, your success.

If it is a slogan, that would probably the most effective way of translating it.
