neutral Steffen Walter : IMO you wouldn't say "hundreds of m.s" if the investment equalled, say, 104 or 167 million euros (which is still in the three-digit million range). So "three-digit" would keep things vague enough since we don't know the exact amount (perhaps Olav does?).

three-figure million amount

This is used to indicate any approximate amount from 101 to 999 million, that is three figures in the millions range.

Please consider these examples taken from web pages.

Shortly after the donation, the company had received a three-figure million-credit from the Berlin Mortgage Bank whose...

Turnover is currently running in the three-figure million bracket.

The company should, through three-figure million (mark) investments in the biomass and wind energy sectors in particular, achieve further emissions reductions.

IMO, "three-digit" is more commonly used than "three-figure" (cf. URLs -> search for "three-digit").
