porte vitrée coulissante escamotable

In a pocketing slider the doors - there may be several glass slabs on each side of the opening in the center - snuggle side-by-side on a track as they are slid back into what's essentially a huge hole in the wall. The concept is really just like the pocket door from yesteryear...
Discussion
ere, the goal was to make best use of the narrow site, with retaining walls and a steel frame that spans fifteen meters to turn the house into a belvedere that flows out onto terraces at the front and sides, while hugging the steep slope behind. Forty-four sliding glass panels, two by three meters in size, disappear into hidden pockets. Deep overhangs shield the double-glazing from direct summer sun, and create a thermal blanket of cool air. When the windows are open, the entire house is naturally ventilated, and second floor openings evacuate hot air.
