German term

Einordnung von Neuem in Vorwissen

German to English Bus/Financial Management effective presentations
The course teaches better presentation skills but I don't really get the Vorwissen (previous knowledge?) and hence how to translate that bullet point. Anyone got ideas?

Die Funktion von Beispielen:
Erhöhen die Verständlichkeit
*Erleichtern Einordnung von Neuem in Vorwissen*
Erhöhen der Redundanz
Verlangsamen den Begriffsfortschritt
Erhöhen die Motivation – Anwendungsbeispiele

the translation, such as it is:

The role of examples:
Increasing understandability
Facilitate classification in previous knowledge again
Increasing redundancy
Decelerating the progress of ideas
Increasing motivation – sample applications

Discussion

hazmatgerman (X) Mar 19, 2009:
My first idea was similar to Franßen's but on second thought this may be more about using examples with known features to explain new concepts rather than integrating new with old knowledge generally. Regards.
davidgreen (asker) Mar 19, 2009:
thanks steffen! thanks for that, have changed it accordingly
Steffen Walter Mar 19, 2009:
Anwendungsbeispiele I've no answer to your actual question but the "Anwendungsbeispiele" should be translated as "examples of use" or "practical examples" (in my humble opinion).
