neutral danamarie : "handicapped" sounds accurate, but adding "person" on sounds stilted. I have never heard "disabled" used for a job description.

look at some of the links I provide- I prefer disabled person or person w/disability over handicapped but I have handicapped as an option since it is listed in major modern dictionaries
neutral Calimon : Disabled and Handicapped are nowadays considered to be politically incorrect because they usually carry a stigma for the person. Person with a disability is the term recomended by the APA.

on disability (leave)

Peer comment(s):

agree Nikolaj Widenmann : Based on the limited context provided, this might be the most accurate suggestion.

Gracias. I agree that more context would help.

1 day 9 hrs
agree danamarie : I agree. When filling out an application with current job, a person is more apt to write "on disability" than "disabled" since the former has a slightly negative connotation. "Disability leave" can be temporary or permenant.

Person with a disability

According to the American Psichological Association's style guide, the correct term is "people with disabilities" for plural, and "person with a disability" for individuals. This term has been selected in order to avoid many negative connotations associated to other terms like handicapped or disabled.

Please read more about this here:
