Serbian term

zajedničko domaćinstvo

Serbian to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs statement
xxx živi u zajedničkom domaćinstvu sa yyy.
Koliko mi je poznato radi se o bračnim supružnicima. Da li da napišem samo household? Mislim da joint or common household može da ima neku drugu konotaciju ili možda ne?

neutral Milena Chkripeska : Slazem se, to je to, ali mislim da je termin previse opsti - meaning living with a roommate or even living in cohabitation, but not necessarily with a spouse. Ovde se radi o bračnim supružnicima.

Hvala gresite!
agree Kristina Kolic : ja bih ovdje možda čak preokrenula i napisala "shares a household with...", ali to je zapravo smisao. Evo primjera: http://www.ilw.com/articles/2001,0404-INSGC.shtm

common law marriage

Common-law marriage (or common law marriage), sometimes called de facto marriage, informal marriage or marriage by habit and repute, is a form of interpersonal status which is legally recognized in some jurisdictions as a marriage even though no legally recognized marriage ceremony is performed or civil marriage contract is entered into or the marriage registered in a civil registry.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Natasa Djurovic : termin oznacava ,,divlji brak'' bez papira...ili vanbracnu zajednicu.

da, hvala!
disagree Milena Chkripeska : This term refers to "a marriage relationship created by agreement and cohabitation rather than by ceremony"

Yes, you are right, thank you
disagree Kristina Kolic : "zajedničko domaćinstvo" ne mora nužno značiti brak; u njemu mogu živjeti i djeca, roditelji, itd.

spousal relationship

The concept of not living separate and apart does not simply mean that you are residing together. Rather,
not living separate and apart also means that a spousal relationship exists. Evidence of a spousal relationship
includes: eating meals together; sharing a conjugal relationship, participating together in social activities,
and having joint finances.

neutral Natasa Djurovic : Da to je bračna zajednica ili bračni odnos, ali ne i zajedničko domaćinstvo! Sorry, this term is not appropriate to this contex!

According to this: "Evidence of a spousal relationship includes: eating meals together; sharing a conjugal relationship, participating together in social activities, and having joint finances", I found this term appropriate to the context.
disagree Kristina Kolic : Ovo nažalost nije prijevod za "zajedničko domaćinstvo" koje ne mora nužno značiti brak; u njemu mogu živjeti izvanbračni partneri, djeca, roditelji, itd. već prema slučaju...

Thank you for the comment! I chose this term, simply because the asker specified that it is about a married couple in this case ("radi se o bračnim supružnicima")
