Spanish term

productos patológicos

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Health Care intestinal symptoms
This phrase appears in a report about a hospitalized patient: " ... comienza con náuseas intensas ... al día siguiente se añade diarrea sin *productos patológicos* ..."

I find a few instances of 'pathologic products' in Google, but not many ... 100-200 ... and I've never seen this phrase in English in this context (the diarrhea context). Would this be the best standard medical English way to express this, or is there something better?

TIA

diarrhea without blood, mucous (or pus)

I often wrestled with this expression myself.
These are the pathological products they speak of.
Good luck

agree Ana L Fazio-Kroll : If you look for diarrhea "without pathological products", yes, the sources are reliable, but most of the authors are not native english speakers...maybe the expression is OK, but sounds weird to me...

Thank you Marzia :-)
agree Alvaro Aliaga : Definitely this is it, instead of going with a literal translation. By the way, the pathological products, besides blood and mucUs include fat (in the case of malabsorption) and others.

Saludos Joseph, you´re right, when I narrowed my search down to *pathological products diarrhea* I got 189.000 hits, very few of which pertain to the pathological products of diarrhea per se...hope it helps anyway..have a great finde...jaja...sometimes dealing with not-so-nice words is one of the "gajes del oficio"...
Note from asker:
Hola Cesar. Thanks for your suggested answer. When I searched in Google, I put in "pathologic products" plus another word, either 'diarrhea' or 'feces' (sorry) ... and when I narrow the context like this, I get less than 200 hits. Otherwise you do get millions of answers, but most of them don't have anything to do with intestinal illness.
Hi again, César. Thanks for your answer and your efforts. I picked the other answer because it's more specific, but I see from all the 'agrees' that your answer certainly isn't wrong! Saludos.

Thank you very much, Constantinos!
agree Gemma Sanza Porcar : César is right. Pathological products of diarrhoea are blood, pus, tissue fluids and mucus. A sample of these must be cultured and analysed in path lab. Best wishes, Gemma

Pathophysiology

Infecting organisms multiply in the synovial fluid and synovial lining. Some bacteria (eg, S. aureus) produce virulence factors (adhesins), which allow bacteria to penetrate, remain within, and infect joint tissues. Other bacterial products (eg, endotoxin from gram-negative organisms, cell wall fragments, exotoxins from gram-positive organisms, immune complexes formed by bacterial antigens and host antibodies) augment the inflammatory reaction.

TUBERCULOSIS
