Arabic term or phrase: اُحيل َ إلى التَّقاعُدِ
This isn't really difficult but I could use a second opinion. What is the difference between

اُحيل َ إلى التَّقاعُدِ

and

احال إلى التقاعد

In English you wouldn't say (to my knowledge) "he got retired"

Thanks!
Michael

he was pensioned off
Explanation:
this is the term i would use to get the difference across between he retired and he was retired (which we wouldn't say as you pointed out)

he retired

Explanation:
It is true, we wouldn't say: he got retired. On the other hand, if he retires by himself at a different age than usual, then we would say something like he got an early retirement. But since the sentence says that he did not retire voluntarily, then it seems that it is the usual retirement age, so I would say: he retired.
