Her ne kadar "nefes almak" fiilinin karsiligi "to breath" olsa da, burada ayaklarin nefes almasi mantiken mumkun olmadigindan aslinda bahse konu olan "hava gecirgenligi" durumudur.

Well, so far I have not seen my feet breathing; yet they do perspire and need air to evaporate that sweat. ;-)) If you wanna refer this process breathing that's just fine. I'd rather call it airing and the shoes/boots have to be "air permeable"
