I have translated this as 'Acute renal insufficiency 2nd A toxicity due to aminoglycosides'. I'm not happy about the '2nd A' as I'm not sure where it fits in. Many thanks for your help!

I would phrase the first part as "acute kidney failure" although "renal" is certainly understandable

: Hi, Mike ... this is correct also. The last doctor I spoke to - about 20 min. ago - says that 'renal insufficiency' and 'kidney failure' are essentially interchangeable. Saludos to you and your dad :)
