A bunch of people moved forward.

"The sixth is on his way", a woman said, giving him the full **benefit** of a glorious lipstick smile.

neutral  Sokratis VAVILIS: A lipstick smile should mean a glossy ("shiny") smille (pls, correct me if I'm wrong). However, a "sourire maquillé" would probably sound slightly awkward
