(under an) ostensibly artistic cloak Explanation: I know this sounds slightly awkward but this is clearly not a general conversation but one which is informed by the speakers' knowledge/thoughts on art criticism and debates along these lines tend to throw up uncommon forms of speech. I think the term 'aparente' needs to be translated/retained somehow and for me the word ostensibly (apparent but not necessarily real) captures the essence of what they're debating here. |
