Portuguese term

Laje do térreo sobre sub-solo

Portuguese to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Building specifications
Now to the foundations. I saw a phrase "slab-on-grade" on google, could this be the same thing? i.e. concrete laid directly over the grade earth.

There's no sentence - just a list in the section on "IMPERMEABILIZAÇÃO" of the foundations.
Proposed translations (English)

Discussion

asptech Jan 7, 2010:
"Sub-solo" must be the bottom surface of the excavation, and the "laje de térreo" is then a fill of suitable soil materials (for strengthening and/or drainage) on this bottom surface. After the fill has been laid and compacted, the building foundation slabs are poured on top of it.
