In a hotel blurb - "lit supplémentaire" also comes up in this text, is a lit d'appoint something different than an "extra bed"?

Pour moi, le lit d'appoint et un lit que l'on range lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé (genre lit de camp) alors que supplémentaire veut peut-être dire un vrai lit.

Il ne s'agit pas de la meme chose. Si vous cliquez images en recherche Google, pour rollaway en anglais et gigogne en francais, ce n'est pas necessairement la meme chose (desolee pour le qwerty)!

I don't think it necessarily means a cot - that's a specific item. The problem with folding beds is that, although full size, they are often very uncomfortable for adult as the mattresses are very thin - for children they are perfectly comfortable.

As the Asker says, "lit supplémentaire" is an extra bed, often a "normal" one. By the way, the term folding can be used for any type of storable bed (Z-bed, put-u-up, camp bed, stackable pouffes, ...)
