Spanish term

vermifugaciones

Spanish to English Science Environment & Ecology animal health
This is from an EIA Update for a Colombian construction project (it's written in Colombian Spanish). The section I'm handling deals with farming in the region and this term has appeared. Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance :-)

El nivel tecnológico en muy bajo y la utilización de los insumos es casi nula, no se realizan practicas como vermifugaciones, vacunación, topizado entre otras...

agree Muriel Vasconcellos : worming - deworming: one of those funny cases of opposites meaning the same thing. I'm sure if you translated your dog's opinion into English, it wouldn't be fit to print.

Exactly - the process of 'de-worming' is usually called 'worming'. If anyone's in doubt, ask my dog what I did to her last week!
agree Richard McDorman : Agree completely (also with Muriel's insights).

agree Rachel Fell : both seem to be used, though I'd tend to go for worming (esp. as it's shorter)

agree Michelle Temple : I live on a farm, and both in Canada and when I lived in the US "deworming" is what I have always heard. I believe "worming" is more common in the UK.
