दरअसल उत्तर देने से पहले मैंने इस बैंकिग शब्दावली को देखा था। जहाँ derivative mortgage व्युत्पन्नी बंधक लिखा था। किंतु मुझे mortgage derivative के लिए बंधक व्युत्पन्न अधिक उचित जान पड़ा। बंधक प्रतिभूति, बंधक संपत्ति इत्यादि की ही तरह बंधक व्युत्पन्न भी हो सकता है। बहरहाल, आपत्ति जैसी कोई बात नहीं। एक शंका थी। आपने अपना विचार रखा, धन्यवाद।

व्युत्पन्न शब्द के प्रयोग में भी कुछ आपत्तिजनक नहीं है तथापि शायद आप सहमत होंगे कि ‘बंधक व्युत्पन्न’ के बजाय ‘व्युत्पन्न बंधक’ का प्रयोग बेहतर होगा।

प्रसंगवश इसी बैंकिग शब्दावली में Derivative Deposit के लिए व्युत्पन्न जमा (कृपया ध्यान दें कि व्युत्पन्नी जमा नहीं लिखा है) दिया गया है। derivative product के लिए व्युत्पन्न उत्पाद दिया गया है। ...और यह भी कि डैरिवेटिव के लिए व्युत्पन्न ठीक जान पड़ता है।

‘व्युत्पन्नी बंधक’ बैंकिंग क्षेत्र में mortgage derivative के लिए मानक शब्द ‘व्युत्पन्नी बंधक’ ही है और यह रिज़र्व बैक की शब्दावली में गलती से मुद्रित नहीं हुआ है। जहां व्युत्पन्न शब्द का प्रयोग है, वहां अंग्रेजी में derived है, शब्दावली की कुछ प्रविष्टियां देखें -
derived demand - व्युत्पन्न मांग
derived value - व्युत्पन्न मूल्य
इनके लिए मांग व्युत्पन्न और मूल्य व्युत्पन्न का भी प्रयोग नहीं है। बैंकिंग जगत में भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक की बैंकिंग शब्दावली ही हिंदी में उपलब्ध मानक शब्दावली है।

व्युत्पन्नी ? व्युत्पन्नी, उत्पन्नी प्रचलन में हैं, मुझे जानकारी नहीं है। मेरी समझ से व्युत्पन्न ही लिखा जाना चाहिए। भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक की शब्दावली में एक जगह ही व्युत्पन्नी लिखा है। हो सकता है ऐसा गलती से हो गया हो। क्योंकि और सभी जगह व्युत्पन्न ही लिखा गया है। चाहे डैरिवेटिव आगे लगा हो या पीछे। उदाहरणार्थ : व्युत्पन्न जमा, व्युत्पन्न उत्पाद आदि। वैसे, बंधक लाभ, बंधक प्रतिभूति जैसे शब्दों की ही तरह "बंधक व्युत्पन्न" का प्रयोग किया जाना चाहिए।
