This is from an interview about a new fragrance. The person is comparing the process of creating a fragrance with the process of creating a jewel, cutting, etc.
I'm assuming the term is a specific technical one for fragrances...

"Dans l’élaboration du jus s’est fait, bon, comme j'ai expliqué, comme j’ai déjà parlé de l’élaboration du cœur, et ensuite, les **éléments de tête** et les éléments disons qui donnaient cet éclat et ces facettes extrêmement vibrants de départ, nous a demandé un travail de ciselage et d’adaptation assez long et nous avons élaboré ce parfum petit à petit, étape par étape, comme un lapidaire peut tailler une pierre ou alors créer un bijou un peu plus compliqué."

Just a thought : is this maybe a distinction between emotional (sexy,heady, flirtatious, seductive, musky,stimulating) versus sensible (distinguished,elegant, stylish, classic) perfumes ?
