Exactly! Yes, Simon. You're right. By the way, I've myself heard جاکلیدی more commonly used.
SeiTT (asker) Aug 2, 2010:
Many thanks – again, I'm amazed at the richness of your language.

Am I right in thinking that جاکلیدی, سر‌سوئیچی and indeed جاسوئیچی refer to the keyring without the keys on, but دسته کلید includes the keys?
Ahmad Kabiri Aug 2, 2010:
There is no Kasre between the words of the phrases «سر کلیدی، سر سوئیچی».
SeiTT (asker) Aug 2, 2010:
Kasres First of all a very big thank you to all. Please could you let me know of any kasres between the words?

حلقه کلید

I think "حلقه کلید" is the best equivalent, since "جا کلیدی" is an equivalent for "key chain".
Peer comment(s):

neutral Hosein H : Have you ever used this phrase yourself? like have you ever said "چه حلقه کلیده خوشگلی"? no offense!

By "حلقه کلید" I mean just the metal ring for holding keys. But you are right, "جا کلیدی" is more common than it. Thanks a lot!
