The idea seems to be that the the documentation in question needs to be prepared with a view to the possibility that said materials might eventually be part of legal proceedings in the future. It is thus a cautionary note to hospital staff.
I would thus opt for including the bracketed "possible" in the translation: Although not stated in the Spanish, I think the English reads strangely without it (given that the overwhelming majority of the documentation in question will certainly not be part of any future legal proceedings).
