This is from a legal document appointing an expert to perform an appraisal following a house fire.
The expert is assigned to interview all those with knowledge of the case:
"sauf à ce que soient précisés leur identité, et s'il y a lieu leur lien de parenté, d'alliance, etc. avec les parties..."
I'm assuming that this is "on condition that their identity be known..."

: Identities are checked, established, proven, etc, but not usually specified.Credentials etc are checked out after being specified, but when are people ever asked to 'specify' their identity ? //@PHILGODDARD-No misunderstanding, 'leur' being the giveaway.
