I think it's reasonable for a morning nursing shift to change the dressing and leave it covered. Then the afternoon shift just checks the "pad" and leaves it untouched because it's clean and dry.
However, we are all guessing here and I really think you should ask your client or add a note in your translation, and stop spending any more time trying to guess the answer to an unfathomable riddle :)

Se menciona en various lugares del mismo documento "Tegapad", lo cual es Tegaderm mas un "pad". Tal vez el anglicismo "pad" se derive del mismo producto. Lo odio trabajar con tantos erores tipográfico. Hace casi imposible mi tarea.

Estimado spanruss. Entiendo tu punto de vista. por todo lo que estan contestando, es mas que evidente que quizas sea un tipo de parche especifico y aqui se encuentra mi duda: parche es masculino, por lo tanto "limpia y seca" deberian estar tambien en masculino. Esa es mi duda. De ahi que pense en el sector de la incision y ahi si podria hablarse de la pared abdominal posterior siempre y cuando haya sido una histerectomia laparoscopica. Gracias por leer el post.

Thanks, Phoebe. Just keep in mind that it would have to be feminine, since feminine adjectives are used. Also, it should make sense that it would be clean and dry. It's obviously some kind of wound dressing.

Answering to you last post...
It seems this report is not related to a pad. at the beginning it says that the "surgical wound is covered". therefore PAP must stand for something else. This hysterectomy must have been a LH instead of a VH. I have been doing some researches and this "PAP" could stand for many other things, such as " posterior abdominal wall". will post them in answers.

Wound dressings are mentioned repeatedly in this patient's medical records. Often "Opsite" or "Tegapad" are specifically mentioned.

This is definitely not a PAP smear. It is some type of wound dressing.

I agree with you spanruss! Yet PAP stands for pap smears, I am not sure the report is related to that. The patient had a hysterectomy. And the nursing report (morning shift) speaks about the surgical scar.

Even though this appears at least twice, it could still be written incorrectly, due to the high number of typographical errors in this document. It's not impossible that this could simply be the English word "pad". The entire document is written in upper case, so I can't tell if this is an acronym for sure.
