Spanish term

bloques con tonalidad azul claro

Spanish to English Marketing Marketing Advertising
Se refiere a bloques de texto, o texto sobre cuadros con fondo de color. Se trata de un manual de uso de una aplicación bancaria. No se si "blocks" es la mejor traducción para "bloques" en este contexto.

El término aparece en este contexto:

"Tras la selección de entidad, stakeholder y segmento, se observa un cambio de color sobre aquellos bloques a los cuales se puede acceder (bloques con tonalidad azul claro)."

De moneto lo interpreto así:

"Upon the selection of the entity, stakeholder and segment, a change of color is observed on those blocks which can be accessed (light blue-hued blocks)."

Discussion

Neil Ashby Jan 29, 2011:
I agree with Jessica 'text boxes' in Word, maybe 'blocks of text' or just 'text' if reffering to a webpage. But I believe 'text/text boxes/blocks of text shaded light blue' is a more natural sounding syntax.
Jessica Noyes Jan 29, 2011:
The "textos sobre cuadros" you describe are called "text boxes" in Word. However, if it is blocks of text (not contained in a box) I would use "blocks of text", as Neil suggests.

I'd definitely avoid using "hued" which is slightly more poetic/literary than the context calls for (IMO).

About Highlighting and Shading Text
•When you highlight text, you are able to set the background color for your selected text, whether it's a word, phrase, sentence, or part of a paragraph.
•When you shade text, the entire paragraph or "block" areas are shaded with a background color.

blocks/background/boxes change to a soft blue hue

My take on this,
Folowing the selection of (the) entity........, the blocks with access granted change in hue (soft blue)
or
-----the bloks available to the user change to a soft blue hue.

Unfortunately the original text is unnecessarily wordy. I'd try to simplify.
Cheers
