Hi I'd appreciate your help with this term.

Context is:
"La Universidad de La Rioja está ubicada en las afueras de la ciudad, pero a un paso del centro de la ciudad. Logroño es la capital de La Rioja, cuenta con unos 150.000 habitantes en su área metropolitana y todos los servicios de una moderna capital con dimensiones humanas. Logroño se comunica con capitales cercanas como Bilbao o Pamplona, a una hora por carretera; y, en el mismo tiempo, desde su aeropuerto, con Barcelona o Madrid, capital de España, en varios vuelos diarios que permiten enlazar vuelos internacionales."
