Spanish term

enfrentamiento

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology) Banking Software
This is a translation of banking software operations. Not much context, because it is just a long list of codes for particular software programs, routines, files, etc., each with a brief explanation. The software deals with bonds and guarantees. The country is Spain. This one reads:

BGCMI37 Enfrentamiento de contratos con datos de propuesta e intervinientes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion

Kevin Melody (asker) May 9, 2011:
I just came across another incidence of this word. The sentence is: Enfrentamiento de contratos y guarantías para obtención de fichero de salida con la estructura de lat tabla (table name). It seems to lend itself to your translation.
Kevin Melody (asker) May 9, 2011:
That sounds like a good possibility. Could you give me a little more insight as to why you think it might mean that?

cross-checking / reconciliation

Could be either (or just "compasion" as Liz suggested).
Peer comment(s):

neutral Peter Clews : Domn't think you'd get much compassion in a contract with a bank!

agree Peter Clews : Difficult, with so little context, but this seems a logical option. "Correlation" might be a possibility, as well.
