Well, it also depends on the actual context and where they're based. I am not sure for british clients, but if you are targeting North Americans, any used equipment that is generally "taken apart, cleaned, renovated, and put back together"; whereas "recondition" often implies certain parts of the machine are replaced due to wear and tear, but the rest of the body is fully functional.
