Tengo algunas posibles traducciones para "despacho internacional" pero no me convencen del todo.

Spanish term (edited): despacho internacional

overseas dispatch

I suspect that the phrase of the question "el despacho internacional " is a simplified, layman's representation (maybe for the press?) of what is actually being requested, which would, I suggest, be a 'carta rogatoria' requiring the bank to (more probably, "hoping against all odds" that the bank will) divulge useful evidence.

If that is the case, then it will be sufficient to use laymen's terms for a literal translation of 'despacho internacional' --> 'overseas dispatch', and leave aside all mention of 'letters rogatory'.
Peer comment(s):

neutral AllegroTrans : I get your drift but I don't think "overseas dispatch" conveys an official request by a Court

"despacho internacional " doesn't convey 'an official request...' either.
neutral FVS (X) : I really don't think that dispatch is the appropriate word here. If I were back translating I would think the court was sending a parcel or something.

Explicación:

the court requests this specific international judicial assistance / legal assistance from a foreign court based on the pertinent mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT) between the two specific countries
Peer comment(s):

agree AllegroTrans : "applies to the Court" would be more appropriate for European English

neutral Jennifer Levey : That is probably what the ST means, but it's not what it says.

The court is requested to issue an international request...

Is what I would say.

Thanks AT.
neutral Jennifer Levey : That is probably what the ST means, but it's not what it says. The translation should stick to what the author wrote, not what you would say in the same circumstances.
