and I know it's something I will have heard of,
but I just can't think of it at the moment.

that's what I thought initially, there is definitely such a thing as a local session. I'm wondering whether the central session is either a "shared session" or "remote session". If I've understood correctly, a central session is when you access your work desktop through a server.

I'd go for remote in this context.

Unfortunately "centrale sessie" doesn't seem to be common usage for IT either... I'd make a note with this one or request more info.

I think that's probably right Lianne - much as I wanted to use "central session" for convenience, it doesn't seem to be used in IT at all.

agree Serge Wolff : I agree with this option. Virtual session is another option. The word 'central' is more used in combination with data and databases.
