This is a passage from a Swiss financial report. I am having trouble understanding this part, especially the phrase highlighted.

Consolidation et diversification de l’allocation de la section or et matières premières avec l’addition du fond ZKB Gold ETF version non hedgée. Le dollar ayant fortement corrigé durant le trimestre, nous avons estimé opportun de ***détenir l’or à travers un produit qui ne couvre pas ses expositions de monnaies***. ... this seems to be a fairly literal translation although, to me it seems, a bit counter-intuitive. Does the document really use "ne couvre PAS..." or could it be "un produit qui ne couvre ses expositions..." That is to say, " a commodity that hedges its exposure to currencies."???
