Verstehe ich das richtig? Zunächst vorweg: der Begriff heißt Interpolation oder Interpolieren.

Befragung am 1.1. ergibt: 100 Teilnehmer, 50% geben an, ihnen ginge es gut, 50% geben an, ihnen ginge es garnicht gut.

Am 1.1. des Folgejahres erreichen wir noch 50 Probanden. Wieder geben 50% an, es ginge ihnen gut, 50% geben an, es ginge ihnen garnicht gut.

DAO oder Last observtion forward behaupten nun, wenn wir von 50 Probanden die Daten haben, dann ist die Relation bei der ursprünglichen Gesamtheit 100 Probanden die gleiche: 50 geht es gut, 50 geht es nicht so.

In der Realität wäre es natürlich denkbar, dass 50 Probanden gestorben sind.

The LOCF and DAO approaches cannot be recommended as strategies for handling missing responses .... usw.

Beobachtungsdaten(analyse) "Data as observed analysis (DAO)" ist offenbar eine Methode zur Datenanalyse.
