This term is used in comparison with "distribuzione diretta".
I had thought of using a rather obvious "indirect distribution" as the translation for "distribuzione per conto" but I'm sure that the Italian would have used "distribuzione indiretta" if that were the case.
For anyone with sound knowledge of English marketing terminology, would the English term use "intermediary" perhaps?
I have found many examples of "distribution intermediaries", but I wonder if the translation for "distribuzione per conto" would be more "intermediary distribution" or something like that?
These are just bullet points in a powerpoint presentation so unfortunately I don't have any full sentences with the use of this term.

I assume this is distribution of pharmaceuticals in italy by the Italy by teh national health service. Direct distribution on behalf of the pharmacuetical companis is where the ASL (local health area agencies) buy direct from producers and distribute to pharmacies on their behalf. Indirect distribution (by the SSN - national health service) is where pharmacies buy direct from pharmaceutical companies and claim reimbursement from the SSN.

This is where the pharmacies sell the pharmaceutical products on behalf of Local Health Authorities, who bought the products from pharmaceutical companies at a specific price, with special discount.
So, the "behalf" is on behalf of Local Health Authorities.
