Italian term

nome d'arte

Italian to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting Painting
How do you call "nome d'arte" in English in the case of a painter? The equivalent of "pen name, " or "stage name?"

Here is the sentence in which the term occurs:

"È quasi un pensiero ossessivo, tanto da mutare il nome d’arte in XXXXXYYYYY."

Thanks for all suggestions. Keep in mind, this is a painter.
