French term

être dans le don

French to English Marketing Tourism & Travel Guest Relations
I'm struggling to find an appropriate translation for this phrase, which occurs several times within a Guest Relations training document for the employees of a luxury hotel.

Example:
Les Employés doivent être dans le don envers le Client, de manière à emplir leur action et parole d’empathie et de considération.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA.

being entirely devoted to the clients' needs

don in French has two different meanings :
The first one is skill, talent or competence
The second meaning is devotion but not in a religeous sense.
être dans le don from my view would mean being devoted to clients as we are talking about Tourism

sensitive to the needs of

...just a suggestion. My first thought was "proactive", but I think that's too abrupt even though I think it gets across the kind of outgoing movement feeling that you need here.
Peer comment(s):

agree Evans (X) : I think that works quite well. It's the idea of 'giving' and 'generosity'./ Perhaps 'put the customer's needs first' might be stronger. And I would be inclined to use 'guest' too. Even passengers get called customers now, vive la différence!

agree Mark Nathan : good suggestion, although I wonder if it goes far enough. Presumably they want to say more than just "be considerate of the guests".

go out of their way to please (the clients)

as though they couldn't do enough for the clients in order to fulfil their every need, graciously (and not ingratiatingly!!).

You often hear comments like this from satisfied customers:

they (were so kind and) went out of their way to please us
They simply couldn't do enough for us
nothing was too much trouble
our wish was their command
