ethnicity
Explanation:
An ethnic group is a group of people whose members identify with each other through a common heritage, consisting of a common culture, including a shared language or dialect. The group's ethos or ideology may also stress common ancestry and religion, as opposed to an ethnic minority group which refers to race. The process that results in the emergence of an ethnicity is called ethnogenesis.

There are two main meanings of the word nationality:

Membership of a nation in the sense of ethnic group (a group of people who share a common ethnic identity, language, culture, descent, history, and so forth). This meaning of nationality is not defined by political borders or passport ownership and includes nations that lack an independent state (such as the Scots, Welsh, English, Basques, Kurds, Tamils, Hmong, Inuit and Māori).
Citizenship of an independent state. Citizenship is determined by jus soli, jus sanguinis, or naturalization, which affords the state jurisdiction over the person and affords the person the protection of the state. The most common distinguishing feature of citizenship is that citizens have the right to participate in the political life of the state, such as by voting or standing for election. The term national can include both citizens and non-citizens. By custom, it is the right of each state to determine who its nationals are. Such determinations are part of nationality law. In some cases, determinations of nationality are also governed by public international law—for example, by treaties on statelessness and the European Convention on Nationality.

There is the "original nationality" which is the status of belonging to a particular nation by origin, birth, or naturalization.

and the "current/present nationality" which is for Genealogy, it's where you have current citizenship. ... The word "present" meaning in the here and now. not the past. not the future .

agree  Linda Al-Bairmani: Iraqi context it should be ethnicity.

  -> Thanks!

disagree  Liliane Hatem: There is no mentioning of ethnicity! I have read the asker's comment prior to answering the question and I know ethnicity's definition. See Da'd Kan'an comment.
13 hrs
  -> Please try to read the comment given by the asker and the definition of ethnicity. The asker mentioned there are two fields for الجنسية & التبعية. If that was your translation for التبعية, how about الجنسية? Simply, التبعية is العرق or أصول الشخص.
