English term

calipers

English to Spanish Science Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) Biodiversity
¿pinzas de freno?
• Field Observation: The Consultant was able to observe the rescue and handling of two frogs and a small Anoles lizard in the field. The teams did not follow the procedure listed in the Rescue and Relocation Plan, nor did they follow best practices from other sources. Latex gloves were not used. The frogs were placed in plastic bags without a ‘cushion’ of air being created for their protection and were transported in backpacks. The Anole was placed in a large plastic container with holes punched in it that were large enough for it to escape through. The animals were not explicitly kept moist (one frog showed clear signs of being dried out) and, in the Consultants’s opinion, were over-handled for measurement and photographing. The team did not have the proper tools for measurement (they used a large meter tape rather than calipers). There was no evidence that the teams intended to sterilize their gear before leaving the site.
