German term

angepassten Verbindungen

German to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng bushing/connection
This appears in a patent, in which a bushing is being defined. The term, and its opposite, appear in the following definitions:

I understand that the "angepassten" connections are made from materials that have identical thermal expansion coefficients, or whose coefficients differ only slightly. And that "nicht-angepassten" connections are made from materials that have different thermal expansion coefficients.
However, I can't determine if this identifies fitted/non fitted, adapted/non-adapted, matched/unmatched connections or what.

The "so-called" seems to imply that this term is common; however I cannot find this definition in use anywhere else. While it seems important that the materials have identical/different thermal expansion coefficients for various applications, I haven't found anything naming the connection based on this criterion.

Many thanks in advance.

I think that "Glas-Metall-Verbindung" is Glass-to-Metal-Seal and not "connection". Please refer

Bond I think "Glas-Metall-Verbindung" is a glass-metal bond, not "connection". (Doesn't answer your question, however.)

Matched seals

Using a classification system based on relative thermal expansion, systems can be described as either matched (i.e. the coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) of the glass and metal are similar), or unmatched (where the CTEs are different). This primary classification is then sub-divided based on type of glass, type of metal, etc. For matched seals, sealing is a result of good chemical bonding at the glass/metal interface. Matched seals can be made to metals, ceramics and other glasses.
Matched seals are sub-divided according to the expansion of the glass (and by definition metal).
For unmatched seals, two main groups exist: ductile and compression.
"Matched" seals in which the metal is sealed directly to the glass, the resulting stress in which is kept within a safe limit by selecting a glass and a metal whose coefficients of thermal expansion and contraction are closely alike.(2)"Unmatched" seals in which the thermal expansion of the metal differs from that of the glass, and the dangerously high stresses which would normally arise are avoided by using (a) metal of small diameter; (b)ductile metals which, by their yielding, give some relief to the stresses in the glass; or (c) intermediate glasses and graded seals; the final seal between the metal and the last member of the intermediate glasses being of the"matched" type.

compound or conjunction

maybe it is "compound" or "conjunction"

Is the opposite then an unmatched seal? Having googled, and with an agreement from Bernd, I would like to select this as the best answer, but you need to submit it as an answer first. :)
