About the discussion if “web” in Spanish has to be written with capital letter:

1) In the original English text: “web” was written with small letter. This implies that was considered a “common noun”. In general, in Spanish, we have to respect the original sources from another language if they are not against the Spanish language.

2) Today, the Real Academia Española recognized “web” as “la web”. The Dictionary of the Real Academia Española is the first authority in this case that includes all the Hispanic world (Mexico, Spain, US Hispanic population, Colombia, Argentina and the others).

3) The technical documentation in Spanish from companies like Microsoft, IBM and others translates from the English term “web” to the Spanish term “web”. They only write “Web” in Spanish with capital letter when in the original text in English was also in capital letter.
